Welcome as you consider getting married at St Augustine's Cashmere

St Augustine's is a beautiful church, suitable for both small or large weddings of up to 200 people, with plenty of natural light and excellent acoustics, in an iconic architectural landmark. The adjoining Hannan Centre Lounge and nearby Church Hall, both with kitchen facilities, may also be useful for preparation or reception spaces for your big day.

The weddings we offer in our church, or by arrangement at other local venues, are a public celebration of a couple’s love, friendship and respect for each other, and a solemn covenant before God. If you're interested, we offer an (optional) marriage preparation course, designed to help you develop strong foundations for a lasting marriage. We are happy to help you decide on the style of service (traditional or modern), music choices, readings and decorations if you'd like any guidance in these areas - all the things that will make your wedding day truly special and memorable.

Please do not assume a minister or church is unaffordable. It's very important to us that weddings are accessible to all so please let us know if our standard fees are going to be a problem.

Fees

Church hire | $650*

*Includes a $100 non-refundable deposit to secure your booking

Minister’s fee | $350 incl GST

Travel reimbursement fee (for offsite weddings) | Charged at the current govt km rate

Audio/Visual operator (required to use sound system) | $150

Organist (if required) | $200 incl GST

Catering help (if required) | $100

If you wish a guest minister (not celebrant) to lead the service, just indicate this on the form. Please feel free to call the Vicar if you'd like to chat through your options.

Marriage Licence

You will need to apply for a marriage licence, preferably two to four weeks before the wedding. It is valid for 3 months. Apply online; Births, Deaths and Marriages. Your marriage licence must be provided prior to the ceremony. We cannot conduct a legal marriage without a licence. If you intend to have an outdoor wedding, please also identify an indoor wet weather alternative (our church may be available), as this address will need to be listed on your Marriage Licence application.
