We are delighted to host a variety of concerts in the Church during the year with established professional musicians (and possibly also ‘up and coming musicians’ - watch this space).
Our current featured Concert series is based around our renowned organ (see below).
The first concert (Sea-am Thompson) was a huge hit with a full house (check out the photos to the right!). Get in quick for the next one!
Messy Church at St Augs!!
On Saturday 28th June 2025 we held a very successful
‘Messy Church’ activity day for families in the Hall.
Our theme for the day was 'Follow me', where Jesus called Peter & Andrew to leave their fishing and to 'fish for people instead'. Crafts, activities, songs and story time were based around this theme.
The families that attended loved the day!
We hope to hold another session before the end of the year - watch this space!
What is ‘Messy Church’? Messy Church is a church for everyone who may not feel comfortable attending a ‘normal’ church service and who don’t yet belong to a church. It typically includes a meal, hands-on activities such as arts, crafts, meeting God in the outdoors, science activities and more, which are suitable for all ages.
Check out the NZ ‘Messy Church’ website! www.messychurch.nz
The Church is a space with wonderful acoustics, and features a new (Yamaha) grand piano that is highly rated by musicians

St Augustine’s Parish Hall
In the past this community fair - showcasing handmade goods of local artisans, was held (in the Parish hall) once a suitable
amount of ‘Arts & Craft’ items have been gathered.
At this stage we don’t have a future fair planned.
